Spotlight on Viking River Cruises
Recently one of the travel industry guides did a wonderful article on the growing trend to river crusies. These cruises are on smaller ships and yet aren't small on service. While exploring areas of the world unavailable by traditional cruise liners and spending more time in port than getting there, these cruises can be wonderful ways to explore new countries in unique ways.

Product of the Week: Viking Tours
February 8, 2006 Rick Shively
Viking River Cruises, which has always made a big splash with its worldwide river cruising products, is coming ashore with the introduction of a new product—Viking Tours, designed to bring travelers to the heart of Scandinavia, the Baltics and Poland.
This much-anticipated expansion, the company says, is in response to the strong demand to offer tours with the same award-winning quality and service Viking River Cruises is known for. Every aspect of these new all-inclusive packages, from the fine restaurants to the premium hotels, has been hand-selected by the same Swiss management team who carefully arranges every aspect of Viking River Cruises' cruise vacations, including in-depth tours of major cities with English-speaking guides.
“I’m delighted to bring the quality of service and Swiss hotel management for which Viking is famous to the lands of my Viking ancestors," says Viking River Cruises’ Founding Chairman Torstein Hagen. "Viking Tours’ fully escorted offerings with English-speaking guides, outstanding operations, and deep-seated knowledge of these countries gives tourists a unique, ultra-exclusive way to travel," Hagen adds. "Viking Tours is my way of fulfilling all the numerous requests from our passengers and travel agents for even more distinct and in-depth ways to travel."
