I second AuntyNin's request, especially that part about hair dryers. Pretty please?

Since some of us don't have facilities for listening to podcasts (long icky story), could the same information be posted somewhere in text form?

Please?

As for packing - heck, I still haven't decided what knitting to bring, much less thought about wardrobe.

Hi there! One of you cruisers listens to the Christa Knits podcast, and sent me an email asking about local yarn shops. If there's any interest in adding an official yarn crawl to your itinerary and you need a guide, let me know! I'm not totally clear on when you are arriving, but I'd love to meet fellow knitters and hear all about your cruise!

Vancouver weather in May can be anywhere from sunny, windless and warm (not HOT like some of the southern states, but nice..), to grey, dreary and WET! Bring a raincoat, and think layers that you can remove as the weather changes :)

Get in touch if you'd like to arrange a tour! Have a great cruise!

To Susan:
Per the cruise line regulations, there are to be no irons in your cabin. I will ask if there is one in the laundry room (assuming there is such a room), but in general, we must avoid the iron. And don't we need a vacation from ironing too??

If you aren't like me and actually anti-wrinkle, might I suggest trying one of the anti-wrinkle sprays, I hear good things about them, or take steamy showers.

Sorry, but I'd leave the iron at home.

Oh, please, no string bikinis -- unless you knit them -- not that I object to a string bikini, but I fear you may be cold.

Ok, I did a quick look up of temps (Monday before the cruise departs, weather.com reports a projected high of:)

LA: 68 F
San Francisco: 57 F
Vancouver: 58 F

Sweaters, light jackets, socks -- that would be my suggestions over shorts, bikinis, and flip flops. (but that might just be me)

Okay, so bags are heading south, but what about those of us heading north?

Can we get weather/packing predictions/suggestions so we have an idea of what to expect for the first week of May in the middle of the ocean towards Vancouver? Do I pack the snowsuit or the string bikini?

Anyone with experience there?

I listened to the podcast and will save it as a reference (great info by the way). One quick question, you covered the hair dryer info, what about in room irons? Don't want to pack a travel one if they are available in the cabin. Thanks!
