Keel of Carnival Magic Laid

Yesterday, at Fincantieri’s shipyard at Monfalcone the 18mtr long first block of Carnival Magic’s keel was laid. The 130,000gt Carnival Cruise Lines ship, a sister to Carnival Dream, is due for delivery in spring 2011.

Compared to her sister, the new vessel will have a larger number of cabins – 1,845 – plus 746 for the crew, giving a total capacity of more than 6,000.

The Monfalcone shipyard is also building Azura for P&O Cruises due for delivery in April, and Queen Elizabeth arriving this autumn. The order book also includes a recent order for a third Dream-class ship which will enter service in spring 2012.
