Michael, I'm confused. On Triumph, Deck 3 under the lifeboats are partial promenades with loungers, chairs, etc that people are welcome to use. They don't continue around the ship so I suppose they are not true promenades (although there were a lot of people walking back and forth, hand-in-hand in the evenings) On deck 4 on the same level as (but behind) the lifeboats are the marshaling areas. These outdoor areas are closed off to the public except for the drills.

I think what's bigger is that the promenade will be a public space.

On the Triumph Class not only is the promendade below the lifeboats - it's not a public space.

Looks like a nice design. I especially like how they took a page from the Crystal Serenity and put the promenade ABOVE the lifeboats so the deck shouldn't be as cluttered with life saving equipment. The cantilevered whirlpools are oddly located, why not on the pool deck instead of the promenade? If the deck plans can be trusted it looks like the rear pool end end up like the ones on HAL which would be good (great views of the wake)and it looks like one of the waterslides will be a "bowl" which are fun (for an example see http://www.proslide.com/rides.php?mainRideID=2)

All in all it's no Oasis, but so far definitely looks like a nice design. Now if we could just calm Joe down a bit before he covers all the walls with velour...
