Princess Introduces the Princess Players Championship   

Casino fans aboard seven Princess cruises in 2008 will have the opportunity to compete in the first-ever Princess Players Championship – a series of slot, blackjack and Texas Hold ‘em poker tournaments. More than $100,000 in cash prizes plus 18 free cruises will be awarded to winners during the events, which start in May and culminate in a Grand Finale event aboard Crown Princess in November. The six preliminary Princess Players Championship cruises will each host a slot, blackjack, and Texas Hold’em Poker tournament. First-place winners in each slot and blackjack tournament receive a cash prize of $3,000 plus a complimentary cruise to participate in the Grand Finale event sailing, with accommodations for two in a balcony stateroom aboard Crown Princess on November 30. Slot and blackjack Grand Finale players will compete for a $10,000 grand prize, while the Texas Hold’em Poker tournament offers the winner a coveted opportunity to play at the exclusive 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas – including travel expenses and free entry valued at more than $10,000.

Guests can choose to participate in any or all of the following tournaments:

  • May 1-4 – Caribbean Princess, Caribbean – Roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale
  • May 7-10 – Diamond Princess, Pacific Coastal – Los Angeles to Vancouver
  • June 1-8 – Star Princess, Alaska Inside Passage – Roundtrip from Seattle
  • July 10-19 – Caribbean Princess, Eastern Caribbean – Roundtrip from New York
  • September 15-18 – Coral Princess, Pacific Coastal – Vancouver to Los Angeles
  • October 5-12 – Crown Princess, Eastern Caribbean – Roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale
  • Grand Finale - November 30 – December 7 – Crown Princess, Eastern Caribbean – roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale To participate in the Princess Players Championship, passengers simply book any of the tournament sailings through a travel agent or Princess reservations and then register for the tournaments of their choice while on board. Entry fees of $100 ($200 for Grand Finale) for slot and blackjack tournaments or $150 ($300 for Grand Finale) for poker competitions are also payable on board. The Princess Players Club offers benefits for player at every level of experience, including rewards for playing slots, establishing credit lines, and setting betting limits for high rollers. Players can earn points at the slots toward instant cash rewards, complimentary beverages, free gifts and future cruise benefits.
