Azamara, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean Cruises Combined Tropical Storm Update

Posted by Michael on 10/31/07

Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises continue to closely monitor the path and progress of Tropical Storm Noel to ensure our guests enjoy safe and comfortable cruises, and to make certain our ships steer clear of the storm.

The safety of our guests and crew is always the foremost concern of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises.

Given Tropical Storm Noel’s location and projected path, Royal Caribbean is currently providing itinerary updates regarding three ships.  Azamara Cruises is currently altering the itinerary of one ship. Celebrity Cruises is not currently altering the itineraries of any ships:

AZAMARA CRUISES

The October 26, sailing of Azamara Quest did not return to Miami as scheduled, October 31. Instead, the ship sailed to the Port of Tampa where it concluded its cruise this morning.  Azamara Cruises is providing complimentary motor coach transportation for debarking guests to return to South Florida.

Guests scheduled on the October 31, sailing of Azamara Quest should still come to the Port of Miami for check-in as planned, Wednesday.  After checking-in, complimentary motor coach transportation will be provided to take guests to the Port of Tampa.  Azamara Quest will not make its scheduled port call in Port Antonio, Jamaica, Thursday; instead, the ship will visit George Town, Cayman Islands, Thursday; and continue its itinerary as scheduled, Friday.  The October 31, sailing of Azamara Quest will conclude at the Port of Miami as scheduled, November 12, 2007.

 Ships sailing from Port Canaveral:

Sovereign of the Seas will not make its scheduled port call in Nassau, Bahamas, Wednesday.  Instead, the ship will visit Key West, Florida, Wednesday; will be at sea, Thursday; and return to Port Canaveral as scheduled, Friday.

Ships sailing from the Port of Miami:

Freedom of the Seas reversed the order of its ports of call, and will now visit George Town, Cayman Islands, Wednesday; and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Thursday.  The ship will not visit Labadee, Haiti, Friday, due to a berthing conflict.  Instead, it will spend two days at sea, Friday and Saturday, before returning to the Port of Miami as scheduled, Sunday.

Majesty of the Seas will not make its scheduled port call in Coco Cay, Bahamas, Wednesday.  Instead, the ship will visit Cozumel, Mexico, Wednesday; will be at sea, Thursday; and return to the Port of Miami as scheduled, Friday.

CELEBRITY CRUISES

Celebrity Cruises is not currently altering the itineraries of any ships.

At this time, no other Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises or Azamara Cruises’ ships are being adversely impacted by tropical weather.  Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and update this information at 12 p.m. Thursday.

The Mail Buoy Episode 83

Posted by Michael on 10/29/07

Not a whole lot of cruise news this week - but if you’re a regular reader of the site then you knew that already ;)

This week we take a slightly different tack with the show.  Yes, we know that we are a cruise podcast, but this week we talk about air travel

The fact is that most cruise passengers need to fly to get to their departure port, so love it or hate it but you’re probably going to end up on in the airport and on a plane.  The thing is, we also know that lots of folks aren’t familiar with the latest air travel rules and regulations.  Plus, we share a few of the tips that we follow to make our trips through the airport as smooth as can be expected.

Don’t worry, next week we’ll talk about cruising again!

There Are Changes in the Photo Gallery

Posted by Michael on 10/27/07

I’ve been hard at work over in the Photo Gallery.  Besides posting pictures from our recent sailing on Queen Mary 2, I’ve also made some changes to the overall look of the page.

I’ve long been unhappy with how it looked over there, hopefully you’ll find the new gallery cleaner, easier to navigate, and more attractive.

So what are you waiting for?  Go check it out!
