If the damage to Cozumel is too severe for the ship to visit, Carnival will either skip the Cozumel port call out right leading to an extra day at sea, or they will visit an alternate port.
Weather issue or not, if you cancel your cruise at this point you will be subject to substantial penalties assesed by Carnival unless you have travel insurance with a cancel for any reason clause.
Carnival may offer compensation for the deviation in the itinerary, but for more information on that you’ll need to contact either your travel agent or Carnvial.
