Rub elbows with some of the greatest players to have ever graced the baseball diamond on MSC Lirica’s 7-night Dec. 14 Caribbean sailing. Former New York Yankees greats Stan Bahnsen and Tom Tresh, former New York Mets star Ed Kranepool, slugger Ken Griffey Sr. (who spent some time with the Yankees) and former catcher/Major League manager Jeff Torborg make up a powerful lineup of players on MSC Lirica’s sailing.
The 7-night roundtrip itinerary from Fort Lauderdale calls at Key West; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Georgetown, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico, and includes two days at sea. Cruise-only prices begin at $479 per person, double occupancy; government fees and taxes are additional. North American residents who place a reservation through Aug. 31, 2007 need only place a $100 deposit per person, based on double occupancy; reservations made after Aug. 31 will require deposits of $250 per person.
The baseball theme cruise includes free interactive passenger/player activities, including a player-hosted trivia game in which guests can test their baseball knowledge, question-and answer sessions with the players, a passenger pitching contest and a lively story-telling session in which the players share some candid revelations about some of the “characters” of the game. Players will also host pitching, hitting, fielding and base running clinics. Perhaps the most popular activity is the free autograph session at the end of the cruise.
