We're back from SeaSocks! It's been a long two weeks, but we're back with the first of two new shows this week. First up is our Cruise News show, and there were a few stories this past week to talk about. Princess continues to announce that more ships are headed to Alaska in 2008. Of the most interest is their decision to send Tahitian Princess to Alaska in 2008 where she will offer 14 day sailings from Vancouver. Carnival will be "renaming" some of their ship- The Fantasy class ships will get the word Carnival in front of their name-- woo hoo... :) Celebrity has decided to split off the ships that were to sail under the Celebrity Expeditions banner into an entirely new cruise line. Azamara Cruises is the name of the line, and the ships that will sail under the Azamara banner are the Azamara Journey and the Azamara Quest. Celebrity plans to position Azamara as a luxury line offering 5 star amenities and service to their passengers. MSC is offering a unique land and sea package, and Carnival is opening up bookings onboard Carnival Splendor for 2008. Crystal is hosting The Ultimate Vintage Room dinner. As promised here is the link to the details, Silversea has completed 100% shipboard WiFi coverage on their ships. Majestic America Line is seeking permission from Congress to continue operating Delta Queen after 2008 when her SOLAS waiver expires. The Port of Miami has named a builder and operator for their proposed tunnel - but they still haven't figured out how to pay for it! Finally, Fall Fiber Frenzy has been canceled, however SeaSocks 2008 onboard Dawn Princess is now open for booking! Full details are here.
