Will Mobile AL Get a Second Cruise Ship?

Posted by Michael on 07/25/06

Al.com and The Press-Register is reporting that according to Mobile Mayor Sam Jones, in addition to Carnival announcing that itwould continue to serve Mobile, but a second line has expressed interest in coming to the city.

The Mayor is stating that either Carnival Cruise Lines would bring second ship to the city, or another cruise line may begin operations on a trial basis.  According to the Mayor, another cruise line has visited the city to take measurements for a “larger ship”  Although we can’t tell what he means by a “larger ship,” he could mean a large ship in general, or a ship larger than Carnival’s Holiday which currently sails from Mobile.

An announcement about an additional ship coming to Mobile is expected in the next three months.
