On January 31, Holland America Line officially took delivery of their brand new Vista-class ship, the ms Noordam. The new Noordam features over 85% of staterooms with ocean views, and two-thirds with verandahs. All Signature of Excellence amenities are in place, including the reservations-only Pinnacle Grill, the Culinary Arts Center—presented by Food & Wine magazine, the expansive Greenhouse Spa & Salon, and the dedicated teen-only area: The Loft. 2006 winter/spring in the Caribbean, summer in Europe

On February 22, 2006 the Noordam sets sail for the Caribbean from Holland America’s newest homeport—New York City—for 10- and 11-day cruises. The Eastern and Southern Caribbean itineraries include their newest Caribbean port of call, Grand Turk, plus Tortola, St. Maarten, Dominica, Barbados, St. Thomas, and San Juan.

The Noordam then begins her Europe season with a 16-day Transatlantic cruise from New York to Rome, departing April 15. She will sail alternating 10-day Eastern and Western Mediterranean itineraries roundtrip from Rome (which can be combined for an unforgettable 20-day Mediterranean adventure). A 16-day Transatlantic cruise from Rome back to New York, departing September 28, tops off the season.
