NCL America Partners With More Hawaian Companies

NCL America will welcome the new Pride of Hawai`i to its U.S. Flagged fleet this April. The largest U.S. Flagged ship ever built, Pride of Hawai`i will join Pride of Aloha and Pride of America offering seven-day, inter-island cruises attracting new visitors . Continuing its commitment to the community, NCL America has partnered with several more Hawai`i-based companies, investing in the local community while offering its passengers a unique experience onboard. NCL America’s newest partners include Maui-based Roselani Ice Cream, Kona Brewing Company, Hawai`i Taro Company, Pacific Biodiesel and Aloha Recycling. As a result of these new relationships, NCL America’s guests can enjoy quality ice cream made with homegrown ingredients such as Kona coffee and Macadamia nuts; Hawai`i’s finest handcrafted ales and lagers from the state’s largest brewery; and delicious, meatless Taro burgers made from the indigenous Hawaiian plant. Although not impacting the guest experience directly, NCL America has chosen to work with Hawai`i-based companies to recycle materials used onboard. Through Pacific Biodiesel, NCL America is recycling its used cooking oils to make a renewable, environmentally-friendly fuel and the brand is also recycling its plastics with Aloha Recycling. NCL America has existing relationships within the Hawai`i farming community to offer Maui-grown tomatoes, Maui Brand® Natural Cane Sugar from Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company (HC&S) and Hawaiian Gold pineapple from the Maui Land & Pineapple Company on board all of its Hawai`i-based vessels. NCL America also plans to buy home-grown broccoli, romaine lettuce, cabbage, squash and green beans from the Maui Farmers Cooperative Exchange. A Special Passover Cruise Just because it's Passover doesn't mean you can't take a wonderful cruise in the Caribbean!

MSC Cruises is hosting a special Passover cruise onboard the MSC Liricia departing on April 11 round trip from Fort Lauderdale. This Western Caribbean itinerary will call on Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Cartagena, Columbia; the San Blas Islands, Panama; Cristobal, Panama; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; and Roatan, Hondouras. MSC Cruises has turned over an entire galley onboard to a team of Rabbis and kosher advisors who will clean and certify the galley as Kosher for Passover. In addition the MSC Lirica's L'Ippocampo restaurant has been reserved just for the passengers taking part in this Passover at Sea program. Just like on many other cruises, passengers will be offered their choice of early or late seating for dinner, while breakfast and lunch will be an open seating at convienent hours. Two Seders will be held in the restaurant and in a private dining area. Of course, you will enjoy the finest gourmet Kosher cuisine for the entire cruise, served on special china and freshly prepared with lots of choices at every meal. Kashruth is under traditional Conservative Supervision as set forth by a Rabbi. Unlike at my house for Passover ;) you won't go hungry either! A special sail-away buffet will be offered in addition to afternoon tea and late evening snacks as well. There will be complimentary ceremonial Kosher wine served during the seders and fine Kosher wines will be available for sale in the dining room throughout the voyage. In addition daily services will be held conducted by a Rabbi and a Cantor.

Norwegian Expedition Tour This 12-day Bergen to Oslo tour features a 4-night coastal cruise on Norwegian Coastal Voyages highlighting Norway’s stunning fjords and the North Cape, plus the best of scenic land excursions highlighting Norway’s cities and natural beauty. It also includes an overnight stay in Bergen, with a seafood market visit and traditional seafood tasting, a Geiranger Fjord custom-chartered cruise, Dovrefjell National Park and Trondheim, a North Cape excursion and overnight stay in Oslo, with a Viking Ship Museum visit (July 2; Aug. 20, 27).
