Carnival Adds Even More Shore Excursions and Tours to Alaska Cruises

MIAMI – Carnival Cruise Lines has added a number of new shore excursions, ranging from canopy and railway excursions to kayaking and safari expeditions, to its 2006 Alaska season.

With the new tours, more than 100 shore excursions are available in conjunction with Carnival Spirit’s seven-day Glacier Bay and Glacier Route cruises that sail northbound from Vancouver or southbound from Whittier/Anchorage May 10 – Sept. 13, 2006.

“Alaska is one of the most fascinating and breathtaking regions in the world and our wide-ranging shore excursions provide the perfect way for our guests to fully experience and discover this magnificent state,” said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO. “Our excursions complement the expansive amenities and facilities offered aboard the Carnival Spirit to provide an unforgettable Alaska vacation.”

Holland America’s Got Big News For 2006!

In 2006, Holland America Line will debut the new ms Noordam, feature eight ships cruising Alaska, and complete its Signature of Excellence enhancements across the fleet. The 13 ships of the world’s leading premium cruise line will offer nearly 500 sailings to all seven continents from more than 25 home ports. Itineraries range from two to 108 days and feature several maiden ports, and calls to the new Caribbean port of Grand Turk.

Cruise West Adding New Ships and Itineraries

After a few slow news days things seemed to have picked up dramatically. Even better, we’ve got news from Cruise West, a company we don’t get to talk about to much.

Cruise West, which features smaller cruise ships has announced this past week that they have acquired the Yankee Clipper and Nantucket Clipper from Clipper Cruise Lines. These coastal cruise ships will sail the 2006 itineraries on the East Coast, Great Lakes, Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico and Central America previously published by Clipper Cruise Line, but under Cruise West ownership and management.

Carnival Cruise Lines to Refurbish Ships Chartered to the Government

Carnival Cruise Lines

Charted by the US Government to assist with the recover efforts from Hurricane Katrina, Carnival’s Holiday, Sensation, and Ecstasy will each receive multi-million dollar renovations before returning to service.

Upon returning to service the Sensation will head to Port Canaveral FL on March 23 to launch new scheduled service, and then will head to New Orleans to resume year round cruising from The Big Easy on October 26.

The Holiday will head to Mobile AL to resume year round service on March 27, meanwhile the Ecstasy is expected to return to Galveston TX on April 8.
