Hurricane Wilma Storm Damage Forcing Itinerary Changes

Posted by Michael on 12/29/05

Due to damage caused by Hurricane Wilma, Norwegan Cruise Lines has been forced to make changes to it’s seven day “Texaribbean” cruises. Details and NCL’s letter to customers can be found after the jump. The changes will affect guests booked on Norwegian Dream’s 7 day “Texaribbean” cruises departing from Houston TX between January 7 and March 25, 2006: Norwegan Cruise Lines December 28, 2005

Dear Valued Travel Partners & Guests,

Norwegian Cruise Line has important information for you regarding Norwegian Dream’s 7-day Texaribbean cruise departing from Houston, Texas. All guests booked on these voyages need to be aware of the current situation in the Western Caribbean as a result of Hurricane Wilma, and travel professionals are kindly asked to forward this information to their clients.

In Cozumel, the cruise ship piers remain unusable so ships are tendering guests ashore. The Mexican authorities have insisted that all guests be back onboard their ships by 7pm each day. The recovery in Cozumel is moving along swiftly and improvements are seen each time we return, thus we will continue to call on Cozumel.

However, in Cancun, the survey of the entrance channel and the restoration of the tender pier are moving more slowly and until these improvements are made, Norwegian Dream will be unable to call in Cancun. For this reason, we have replaced Cancun with a day at sea as there are no other ports in the vicinity that would allow us to make a call and return to Houston on schedule.

The people of the Yucatan Peninsula have worked diligently to return their region to its pre-hurricane standing. We at Norwegian Cruise Line are working diligently to offer our guests the best possible cruise experience. As conditions warrant and regulations allow, we will be extending port call hours and increasing the number of shore excursions available wherever possible.

Until further notice, we have had to amend Norwegian Dream’s 7-day Texaribbean cruise departing from Houston, Texas on the following dates:

• January 7, 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18, 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25, 2006

The revised itinerary is as follows:

Day Port Arrive Depart Sat Houston, Texas 4:00 pm Sun At Sea
Mon Cozumel, Mexico 1:00 pm 7:00 pm Tue Roatan, Honduras 12:30 pm 8:00 pm Wed Belize City, Belize 7:00 am 5:00 pm Thu At Sea Fri At Sea
Sat Houston, Texas 9:00 am We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change and thank you in advance for your understanding. Should you have any further questions about this change, please call us at (800) 327-7030. As always, an NCL representative is available to assist you.
Sincerely,

Steve Riester
